Cheese and Apple Coleslaw

The average person will eat 18,304 sandwiches in their life. Just over 37million people in the UK have AT LEAST one sandwich per day – with over 12 million people having exactly the same filling every day.* If we are going to eat that many sandwiches it would be good to have some different fillings.

Tia's tip

This is a nice and easy recipe and a great test for your children as grating can be a little tricky

Ingredients

  • 2oz cheddar cheese

  • 1 apple

  • 1 ½ tblsp mayonnaise

  • 1qtr lemon

What do we need?

  • Chopping board

  • Sharp knife

  • Grater

  • Bowl

  • Tablespoon

  • Grate the cheese and add to the bowl

  • To cut the apple stand it up on the base and cut four slices from each side (leaving the core in the middle) turning the apple as you cut

  • Then grate the apple pieces and add to the bowl

  • Add the mayonnaise to the cheese and apple

  • Squeeze the juice from the lemon, be careful to remove any pips

  • Stir your coleslaw carefully. Your want the sauce to cover the cheese and apple.
