Tia's tip
This chilli sugar mix is nice but we also like our popcorn with honey or toffee sauce.
What do we do?
-
Put the chilli powder, cinnamon, salt and sugar into the small mixing bowl. Stir it well.
-
Put the oil and popcorn kernels in the saucepan and stir well. The popcorn kernels need to be well covered in oil.
-
Put the lid on and put it on a high heat.
-
The popcorn will start popping after a minute or so.
-
Try to hold the lid on and shake the pan every 15 seconds. It will stop the popcorn at the bottom burning.
-
Once the popping slows down to 1-2 seconds take it off the heat and put it into the large mixing bowl.
-
Put the butter in the pan and let it melt.
-
Pour the butter over the popcorn and stir well.
-
Sprinkle the sugar mixture over and stir again.
-
Put the chocolate chips in the saucepan and stir until it is melted.
-
Lay the popcorn out on a baking tray.
-
Drizzle the chocolate on the popcorn.
-
Let the chocolate set, then eat and enjoy!
