  • Tablespoons

  • 9 inch Flan Tin

  • Rolling Pin

Tia's tip

This is so yummy. It is like having a chocolate brownie in sweet pastry.

What do we do?

  • Pastry

  • Put the flour and butter in the large mixing bowl. Squeeze the flour and butter with your fingertips until it looks like breadcrumbs.

  • Stir in the icing sugar add the egg yolk and use a fork to mix it in. You will need to use your hands to bring it together into a dough. If it feels too crumbly add 1tbsp water.

  • If you have time, wrap the pastry in cling film and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes.

  • Roll out the pastry and put it in the base and up the sides of the flan tin.

For the filling

  • Preheat oven to 180C.

  • Put the sugar and cocoa powder in the second large bowl, whisk it together and add the eggs, butter, and evaporated milk. Whisk it really well to make sure it is all mixed together. It will be runny.

  • Pour the chocolate mixture into the pastry case. Bake for about 50-55 minutes. The filling should be set but it be a little wobbly in the middle.

  • Put the chocolate pie in the fridge and cool completely before eating.

  • You can serve the pie with a spoon of whipped cream

Eat and enjoy!
