Pizza

This dough recipe is brilliant and so easy. With just a few ingredients you can make something very delicious that everyone can personalise with their own toppings.

Tia's tip

I like a BBQ sauce base instead of tomato.

Ingredients

Pizza dough

  • 250g plain flour

  • 1 teaspoon dried active baking yeast

  • 1 pinch salt

  • 200ml warm water

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Tomato sauce

  • 4 Tblsp Tomato puree

  • ½ tsp Oregano

  • ¼ tsp Salt

  • ¼ tsp Pepper

Toppings

  • It is entirely up to you. Traditionally pizzas have mozzarella cheese. We used a combination of Mozzarella and cheddar.

  • You can also add any cooked meat or vegetables

What do we need?

  • Weighing scales

  • Fork

  • Measuring jug

  • One large bowl

  • One small bowl

  • Cheese grater

  • Tablespoon

  • Teaspoon

  • Rolling pin

  • Chopping board

  • Table knife

  • Pizza tray or normal baking tray

What do we do?

  • Put the yeast into the warm water and put to one side.

  • Measure the flour and salt into a bowl

  • Stir in the water and olive oil

  • Turn the dough onto a floured surface. Use a little more flour to knead the dough and make it smooth

  • Cover the dough and leave to rest for 15 minutes

  • Mix the ingredients for the tomato sauce in a small bowl

  • Divide the dough in half and roll out to form a circle base

  • Spread the tomato sauce over the pizza base, layer on the mozzarella cheese and add any other toppings you would like

To cook your pizza

  • Preheat the oven to 200 C / Gas 6

  • Bake in the preheated oven until the pizza base is puffed and golden, about 15 minutes
