Ingredients
-
250g pasta (any shape will work)
-
6 Sausages
-
1 packet of Passata
-
1 Onion
-
6-8 mushrooms
-
1 Carrot
-
1 Courgette
-
1 Tsp Garlic Paste
-
1 Tbsp Oil
-
Salt and Pepper
What do we need?
-
Large Frying Pan
-
Large Saucepan
-
Chopping Board
-
Sharp knife
-
Grater
-
Scissors
-
Teaspoon
-
Tablespoon
What do we do?
-
Cook the pasta in a saucepan of boiling water for 12-15 minutes until just cooked.
-
Drain the pasta and put to one side in the saucepan
-
Chop the onion into small cubes. The easiest way is to put half an onion flat side down on the chopping board. Cut from the root outwards (do not cut through the root) then cut across the onion the other way.Or you can use a grater (but be careful of your eyes – it will make you cry).
-
Slice the mushrooms and slice again into small sticks
-
Grate the carrot and courgette
-
Using the scissors cut the sausages into 1cm pieces. If you can remove the skin too
-
Put the frying pan on a medium heat and add the oil
-
Add the onion and garlic, stirring constantly for 2- 3 minutes
-
Add the sausage pieces to the frying pan and cook for a further 2-3 minutes until slightly browned.
-
Add the mushrooms, carrot, courgette and Passata, stir well
-
Let the sauce simmer for 5-10 minutes. If you can cover the frying pan while it simmers.
-
If your sauce is to dry add some water
-
When you are ready to serve add the sauce to the pasta in the large saucepan, stir well and add salt and pepper to taste.
