Stir Fry

The ingredients used in this recipe make a lovely sauce to go with any stir fry. You can add prawns, beef or keep it vegetarian. To make it a complete meal add noodles or serve with rice.

Ingredients (for two people)

  • 1/2 pepper

  • 1 Carrots

  • ¼ bag Bean Sprouts

  • 1 Chicken breasts or 2 chicken thighs

  • 2 tablespoon Soy Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon Honey

  • 1 teaspoon Chinese Five Spice

  • 2 tablespoon Oil

What do we need?

  • Tablespoon

  • Teaspoon

  • Sharp Knife

  • Chopping boards (one meat board and one vegetable board)

  • Wok or frying pan

  • Wooden/ silicone spoon

  • Vegetable peeler

  • 2 bowls

  • Cut the pepper in half and remove the seeds and stalk. Cut the pepper into long strips

  • Use the vegetable peeler to make long strips of carrot. Then cut them in half lengthways

  • Using scissors cut the chicken into strips

  • Measure out your sauce ingredients; soy sauce, honey, five spice and keep nearby

  • Put your frying pan or wok on the stove on a medium to high heat

  • Add the oil to your frying pan

  • Add your chicken and leave it for 2-3 minutes (do not move it around to soon as it will stick)

  • After 3 minutes give the chicken a stir round and check if it is cooked through. If it is still pink you need to cook it a little bit more

  • Once the chicken is cooked add the pepper and cook for 2 minutes

  • Add the beansprouts, carrots and the sauce ingredients

  • Cook for a further 2 minutes keep stirring

  • Once cooked you can eat it on its own or with rice/ noodles
