Summer Sundae

Everyone loves a yummy pudding, but we all know that we need to be careful with our sugar intake. This desert uses fruit juice, honey and fresh fruit to give sweetness and to keep it healthy.

Ingredients (makes 5)

100g/4oz rolled oats

100ml/4fl oz orange juice

2 tsp sunflower seeds

2 tsp pumpkin seeds

1 small banana

200g / 7oz Greek yoghurt

2 tbsp honey

5 strawberries

What do we need?

  • Weighing scales

  • Measuring jug

  • 2 Mixing bowls

  • Teaspoon

  • Tablespoon

  • Chopping board

  • 2 Table knives

  • 5 Small glasses

Tia's tip

Blueberries and raspberries could be used instead of strawberries.

What do we do?

  • Put the oats, seeds and orange juice in one of the mixing bowls, stir well and put to one side for 15 mins.

  • Put the yoghurt into the second bowl and stir in the honey.

  • Peel the banana and put on the chopping board to slice. It is best to cut the banana in half lengthways and then put the flat side of the banana down on the board and slice into small pieces.

  • Put a strawberry on the chopping board and remove the green bit (stalk) at the top. Cut the strawberry in half lengthways. Once again put the strawberry piece flat side down and cut into smaller pieces.

  • When all the strawberries are cut up, get your glass.

  • Take a spoon of the oat mixture and place it in the bottom of the cup.

  • Add a layer of banana.

  • Spoon in the yoghurt mixture and add strawberry pieces on top.

  • The ingredients should make five small deserts.

Eat and enjoy!
